I am trying to find a replacement semi hair colour urgently and would have preferred it without ammonia as I have allergies to many products across the board. However it would appear apart from importing from Australia for the boxed ones I have run out of choices apart from L’oreal Casting Cream which I wonder if it would be suitable over high percentage grey. My question is how much ammonia and peroxide is there in the MYHD no lift range when only wanting a semi permanent finish. Also if I decide to use it could it be used over an existing build up of colour and would the MYHD need to be grown out or will it fade over a couple of months? Thanking you.

MyHD No lift developer is only for semi permanent colour – so contains no bleaches or ammonia.
You put the colour tube plus the no lift developer together to achieve a semi permanent colour that lasts around 8-12 weeks.
Because there is no ammonia in this developer – you can only use this semipermanant dye and developer it to go darker shade (as ammonia is needed to lighten the hair).
As for dying over colour build up – depends what colour it is. I would suggest the MYHD colour remover to get rid of the build up – this is a gentle colour remover that is rich in olive oil to condition the hair as it removes colour. Then putting the colour you desire in. I hope this helps.
